"From the moment I got the script, I knew that this was going to be special, because I could recognize the realness and the rawness of the scene. It was also a character and story I felt deeply connected to. I already knew the project would turn out to be a beautiful, very private moment, and very honest reveal of a vulnerable heartbreak."

"Working on Elijah was a transformative journey — a process deeply rooted in vulnerability, truth, and the unyielding pursuit of authentic storytelling. This film captures the raw interplay between personal ambition and the inevitable challenges of life, where every new moment is an invitation to reveal the layers of our emotional reality."

Director's Statement

ELIJAH was my first opportunity to express another side of myself through film — an exploration of love and its complexities without relying on the structure of a genre film to carry the story. Writing this allowed me to dive deep into the nuances of a relationship wearing thin, uncovering its raw and often uncomfortable truths.

As a director and writer, my goal was to stay true to perspective — to capture something honest, vulnerable, and deeply human. That meant turning the mirror on myself and others, even when it hurt. Authenticity was the only way forward.

This project also marked a new chapter in my collaboration with Emidio. Co-writing and building this film every step of the way with him felt like a natural evolution of our journey since first working together in 2018, pushing our creative dynamic to new depths.

Milcania brought such sincerity to her role, balancing grace, strength, and understanding in a way that felt effortless yet profound. Watching her embody the character was a beautiful reminder of why I tell stories in the first place.
